Flight Arrival and Departure Times
If you are flying in to New Orleans (MSY) on the day of your cruise make sure you allow plenty of time to get to the ship. Carnival recommends arriving in to MSY by 2:00 PM at the latest on the day of embarkation. After your cruise, your flight should not leave before 11:30 AM. (updated January 2010)
Carnival Cruises Parking at the Port of New Orleans
Carnival has a secure parking garage at the port. Be prepared to pay $14 per day to park. Payment is due as you enter the garage by cash or credit card. (updated February 2010)
Other Parking options in New Orleans
If you are arriving by car the night before your cruise, several of the hotels in the area may let you leave your car in their lot while you cruise. However, you will need to stay at least one night before your cruise – look for "Park 'n Stay" rates advertised by the hotel. These hotels usually have a shuttle to take you to and from the cruise port. (updated January 2011)
Getting from New Orleans Airport (MSY) to the Port of New Orleans
There is a flat fee of $28 for the first two persons and $12 per person for three or more, plus a $1 fuel surcharge per trip (not passenger) from MSY to the port. It is about a 45-minute ride. There are walk-up kiosks in baggage claim for airport shuttles and limos to the port. An airport shuttle is $15 per person each way to / from the cruise port. An airport limo costs $58 for 1 or 2 people each way. Cruise Line transfers are $23 per person each way. (updated July 2010)

Required Travel Documentation
As of June 1, 2009 U.S. Citizens on closed-loop cruises (cruises that start and end from the same port) can still cruise with a birth certificate and government-issued photo ID (children only need a birth certificate). Passports are required if you have to leave the cruise early and fly back to the U.S. Passports may also be required depending on the country your ship is visiting.
